The definitions of Gift cards and Vouchers vary across different languages, systems, and situations. Understanding the distinction is important to ensure you're using the right tool.

Voucher

A voucher is a once-off promotional feature that you can use to give away a free item, a discount, or something else entirely. They are primarily assigned to contacts via email or automation. It is not possible to reuse or reload them and they are never anonymous.

Gift card

A gift card is an anonymous 'card’ that holds value, allowing you to directly take value off a bill by using this card. They can be physical or digital. A giftcard cannot be assigned to a contact, but they are always delivered to a recipient’s email address. They can be purchased through multiple sales channels (learn more here) and used to deduct value directly from a transaction.
