How to use tags and personalise your communications

Become a master of personalised communication via email.

To personalise your emails and communication with data tags, you need to add them to an email in the email designer under ‘Marketing’ and by selecting either ‘Campaigns’ or ‘Automated Emails’.

On the left hand side of the designer, you can find a section called ‘tags’. This is where personalised customer data will automatically be added to an email such as first name, credit balance, tier, etc.

To make a particular marketing communication special for your customer follow the steps below:

  1. Locate ‘tags’ on the left hand side of the email designer

  2. Search for the contact attribute you want to include

  3. Click on the attribute to copy it to your clipboard

  4. Paste it within the text of your email

Different customer data can be added including:

  • visited locations

  • name

  • date of birth

  • point balance

  • last visit

  • prepaid balance

  • Tier

  • loyalty transaction information

  • referral link URL for a contact

Follow the steps to create a custom contact attribute, to personalise your communication based on your specific business model and the data you collect.
