How to set-up Rewards & Vouchers for Lightspeed-K series

Quickly configure the behaviour of rewards & vouchers on Lightspeed-K series by following the steps in this article.

Written by Miles Zunker

Once you've installed the integration, following these installation steps, within the Rewards and vouchers you will see a new tab: Lightspeed-K.

Under this tab is where you configure how a reward, or voucher, behaves on the Lightspeed-K POS. For each reward and voucher this configuration is needed.

In order to apply discounts on items that are added to the order as sub items, you also need a special item that can be added as a promotional item.

Go to Items, create a new item with the SKU: LEAT-DISCOUNT-ITEM and set the price type to Manually-entered negative price.

Configuration Options

Within each Reward, or Voucher, that you want to offer to your customers you will need to configure how they behave on the POS. So that the €10 discount reward you offer, actually gives a €10 discount on the POS.

Within each reward, and voucher, you will have the following configuration options:

  • Discount
This field shows the available Lightspeed-K discounts we can link to this reward. For example, if you have a Lightspeed-K discount for €10 off, that discount becomes available to use for a reward.

  • Applies to
This field offers four different options, that change how the reward behaves. Only one option can be chosen within a single reward.

    • Entire Order

      • This means the discount applies to the entire order.

    • Item(s) at a specific location

      • To create a reward for item(s) at a specific location

      • If multiple items are selected, a choice between the items is required.

    • Item(s) across all locations

      • To create a reward for item(s) at all locations

      • If multiple items are selected, a choice between the items is required.

    • Item(s) within a specific category

      • To create a reward for item(s) within a specific Lightspeed-K accounting group category.

      • If multiple categories are selected, an individual item still needs to be selected as the reward.

  • Product
This option only shows if in the "Applies to" field, one of the "Item(s) ..." options is selected. So that you can specify which items are included.

Tip!
If you can't see all your menu items, or discounts, within Leat: you need to re-synchronize the integration. Navigate to Apps -> Integrations -> Lightspeed K.
From there find the Sync tab, and then click "Sync Items and Discounts"

Configuring a Reward

Navigate to your rewards Loyalty -> Rewards and find the reward you want to configure. We'll show two examples in this article.

Example Reward: €10 Discount

To set that up, first a discount was created in Lightspeed-K for a €10 discount.

Please note: Always check your discount set-up internally, to ensure it's aligned with your procedures and any accounting requirements.

From there, in Leat, we set it up as follows:

  • Discount
This is set to: €10 off

  • Applies to
This is set to: Entire Order

Example Reward: Free Drink of Choice

Another example reward we can set-up is a Free Drink of Choice
To set that up, first a discount was created in Lightspeed-K for a 100% discount.

From there, in Leat, we set it up as follows:

  • Discount
This is set to: 100% Loyalty

  • Applies to
This is set to: Item(s) across all locations

  • Product
This is set to the drinks available at our restaurant, that we want to offer as a welcome drink.

Configuring a Voucher

Navigate to your rewards Loyalty -> Promotions and find the voucher you want to configure. We'll show one voucher example in this article. The set-up follows the same logic as rewards.

Example Voucher: 50% discount
To set that up, first a discount was created in Lightspeed-K for a 50% discount.

From there, in Leat you set it up as follows

  • Discount
This is set to: 50% off

  • Applies to
This is set to: Entire Order

Please note: conditional deals such as 2 for 1s, item-in-basket conditions for deals (e.g., free side with meal) or minimum spend deals are not possible without on-site enforcement.
