Configuring Promotions & Rewards With the Toast Integration

To set up vouchers and rewards using the Toast integration, follow the steps below.

Step 1: Navigate to your Promotion

Click on Loyalty and then select Promotions & Vouchers or Rewards

Select the promotion you want to configure.

Once inside the promotion, click on Toast from the list of integrations on the left-hand side.

Step 2: Configure Voucher or Reward Options

Once you open the Toast configuration, you will find the following configuration options:

Below is an explanation of each option:

Title

Enter a clear and descriptive name for your promotion.

Examples:

  • “$10 Off Your Order”

  • “10% Off Total Bill”

Discount Type

Choose the type of discount:

  • Percentage → For percentage-based discounts (e.g., 10%)

  • Amount → For fixed-value discounts (e.g., $10)

Discount Amount

Enter the value of the discount.

Examples:

  • Enter 10 for 10%

  • Enter 10 for $10 off

Maximum Discount

Set a cap on how much discount can be applied.

Example:
If the promotion is 20% off with a maximum discount of $15, the discount will not exceed $15, even if the calculated value is higher.

Minimum Spend

Define the minimum order value required to use the promotion.

Example:
A minimum spend of $30 means the promotion only applies to orders of $30 or more.

Type

Select how the discount should be applied:

  • Total Bill → Applies the discount to the entire order

  • Item → Applies the discount to a specific item

    • You must select the item from the menu

    • Choose an Item Picking Priority:

      • First eligible item found → Applies to the first matching item in the order

      • Least expensive item → Applies to the cheapest eligible item

      • Most expensive item → Applies to the highest-priced eligible item

  • Category → Applies the discount to a selected category

    • Choose the category from the dropdown menu

Redemption on the the Toast POS

It is important to keep in mind that the right criteria have to be met, for the reward to become visible on the POS. A customer needs to have the right amount of points, or have received the voucher.

It is also important to keep in mind that if I create a Free Coffee reward, or voucher, it can only be redeemed if a linked item is present in their order. If you order a lemonade, your Free Coffee reward will not be available.
