A contact identifier is an alphanumeric value that uniquely represents a contact. In our system, every contact is anchored by their email address, which acts as the primary identifier. Additional identifiers—such as card numbers, wallet pass IDs, or custom identifiers—are stored as part of the contact’s profile.

It is possible for a contact to have multiple identifiers

Each time a new wallet pass is issued, a unique identifier is automatically generated and linked to the associated contact.

This is similar to how loyalty cards work in our system. If a loyalty card includes a QR code tied to an identifier, that card can be used to identify the contact—whether via an integrated POS, self-service kiosk, or our own business app.
