Setting up a Klaviyo Flow using Leat Triggers

Everything you need to do in Klaviyo to set-up a Flow using Leat Triggers.

Written by Miles Zunker

Now that you've integrated Leat and Klaviyo, you can start creating flows in Klaviyo using Leat event triggers.

Creating a Welcome Flow in Klaviyo

In this example, I'll be creating a Welcome Flow for new contacts in the programme.

  1. Within your Klaviyo Dashboard, navigate to 'Flows' and create a new flow from scratch by clicking 'build your own'. Give it a name and proceed.

  2. From within the flow, navigate to 'Metrics' and find "Leat Loyalty & Rewards"

  3. Create a flow using one of the metrics, for example "Contact Created" if you want to create a flow for every new Leat contact that is created.

  4. Determine how you want the system to treat re-entry, and if there are any additional filters that need to apply. Once set-up, press save. The metric is saved after and cannot be changed. Filters can be adjusted after saving.

  5. From there, link an email to this flow so that after a contact is created; an email welcoming them to your loyalty programme is created!

Creating other useful flows in Klaviyo using Leat triggers

There are of course a few other useful loyalty flows you can create in Klaviyo, such as retention, birthday, new tier reached, or voucher redemption reminders.

  • Retention Flow

For a retention flow, we recommend using the trigger: contact_updated

    • And then adding a profile filter: leat_last_points_transaction_date is at least X days ago. So that you can specify the flow to only run for customers that haven't visited your store in 30 days, for example.

  • Birthday Flow

For a birthday flow, navigate to All Triggers and then select Date Property.

Then find Leat_Birthdate within the list

Then you can customize your flow further to send out every year on their birthday, or a week before, or a month before. However you'd like!

  • Voucher Expiration Flow

To create a flow that reminds customers their vouchers are about to expire, navigate to Triggers and select Date Property.

From there, find Voucher_expiration_date and then specify the time frame. For example, if you want to remind someone 1 week before the expiration date: you'd set it up as follows.

  • Tier Reached Flow

Whenever a contact moves up in the Tiers you have, you can automate a flow to inform them of their new perks and progress. To do so, create a new flow and then use the Leat Metric: Tier Reached

From there you can either create branching, to specify through each branch what Tier should get what email. Alternatively, you can create separate flows and specify what Tier they've reached through the Trigger Filter.

In this example, we specify that they moved "to Tier equals Silver"

Which means that this flow only works if the customer moved to the Silver Tier.
